I Woke up to the sound of rain but it wasn’t raining outside. I walked into the kitchen and one of the can Lights was dripping water and so was the vent. so I shut the water off to the house and went upstairs the laundry room was dry so i went to go into the bathroom witch has flooded. The vent was covered with water. The cupboards soaked but the sink above was not. The carpet in the hall was soaked and it went into 2 of the bedrooms. We called the insurance the next morning. The clean up crew couldn’t find anything wrong and turned the water on and it didn’t leak again. We called a plumber and they were so confused. How Does a pipe or fitting leak once but not leak again. Will it leak again. The House is Less Than 3 Years Old.

In the last 6 months, many things in the house have been affected by water-the garbage disposal started leaking, causing a big mess under the sink, the dishwasher started leaking from underneath & further damaged the floor under the sink, an old chimney on the side of the house started leaking leading to damage to the plaster kitchen wall and floor behind the stove, the fireplace chimney started leaking leading to damage of the living-room wall, the toilet needed major repair as well as the bathroom sink.you get the picture. But last night, the WATER BED sprung a leak at 3am . (yes, my husband still loves this dinosaur.not me, the bed). Now, I know that maybe we just need some tuck-pointing, a good plumber and a new bed, but I am also a believer that re-currant themes can have spiritual meaning in one’s life.
ANY IDEAS OUT THERE.

My mother had a new kitchen fitted but as she is good at diy she is doing the tiling herself- only wall tiling and a small kitchen.
The guys fitting the kitchen fitted a new windowsill over an existing one to match a new counter height on a small window behind the sink. They in agreement with my mother used the same manufactured wood counter top but upside down so a smooth brown surface is on show rather than the actual counter surface.
She has tiled the walls already and they look great but when she tiled this window sill after putting on two coats of PVA which were left to dry in between, the tile adhesive dried out rather than bonded and we’ve had to take the tiles up again and wash them.
Is the adhesive wrong on this surface or is it the preparation of the surface that’s in question. or is it something we haven’t thought of. my mother has layed patios, built wardrobes and a green house and tiled our bathroom before so her pride is getting a knock here and she won’t give up until she has worked out whats wrong so please give a 64 year old woman a dig out here and she won’t get a professional tiler to do one window sill;-)

So what do you call the large food storage area in your kitchen.

My brother and i will both be done with college this spring, starting jobs where we would both make $15 per hour. I have a $300 car payment for another 2 years, and he will need a car within a year, of a similar payment.

We want to get a small house here in Iowa, area code 50613, that has a large workspace such as either a very large garage, or a seperate workshop, perhaps made from a pole barn. Neither of us plan on raising families there, so a 2-bedroom house with 1 bath and a small kitchen, just a bachelor pad, would fit quite well. We’d like to be near town, but rural enough to not have to worry too much about neighbors, since we’ve grown up in the country and are used to being able to shoot firearms, and work on our cars without worrying about leaving a tool laying out, for a passing kid to steal if we were in town. Darn tool-stealing kids.

Honestly, i think we would both live in a large RV if the price was right, and if we could find an empty lot for dirt cheap to build a simple workshop on. We have welding equipment, an air compressor, stuff that just doesn’t fit into a small house’s garage in the middle of town. Our parents are selling the acreage to move into a condo in town, and my brother and i cannot afford the huge house or property it’s on, when the large workshop and rural setting are all we really need.

I thought about maybe just living in an apartment in town, and renting somebody’s unused barn outside of town, for my brother to rebuild a muscle car, and myself to build a dune buggy.

Okay so this is a ton of extra info. Any advice or thoughts on how much we could get a small rural house for.

Where would I find someone to buy an old (1790) farmhouse on long island. .
House is currently lived in but needs a bit of work. Rooms are large. 2 and 1/2 baths 4 bedrooms, eat-in kitchen, den, living room, formal dining room. No poltergeists.but the house has a warm caring feel (presence.) about it.2 staircases, 2 fireplaces, large lot with fields as next door neighbor. Property is worth $. Stone foundation, basement, original beams (you can see ax marks) tongue and groove roof. Tree trunks used as beams in basement. Can easily be restored to original circa. Engineer’s report: “House hasn’t fallen in 200 years and isn’t going anywhere in the next 200.”
More info:
People on Long Island want a home not a project. This house while it is a home right now is a rennovators dream.how do I find a person/or/group who loves to redo old houses. I know of some wealthy people who own many homes and have even bought project houses in VT just to rennovate it and bring it back to its original state (with hidden modern conveniences like a/c heat and of course hot/cold running water. How do I find these kind of people.

Of course its not Christmas - it’s not kelly green or emerald green.
And being proud of being Latino is not un-American. How lame are you, if you think that. Why is it so American to be proud of being Irish or Italian but not Latino.
