Music studio in a garage

Music is your hobby and you want to practice with your band.
The only available place that you can think of is your garage but you
also have neighbors that must not be disturbed while you are
practicing. The only solution to use your garage as a music
studio is to soundproof it or build a small studio in one corner of
the garage. For this you need to use two existing garage walls
and build another two new walls on an angle to improve the
acoustics of the studio.

After measuring the angle you will have to anchor sole plates to
the garage floor and frame the first new wall. After finishing the
framing for the second wall and adding a door to this one you
have to insulate the garage walls to help deaden the sounds. Next
you will hang drywall on the new walls and patch the seams. The
final layer of sound-deadening material will be applied to the
walls and to the ceiling. This layer is made of some secondhand
carpeting. After applying these carpets you can cover them with
some strip boards pinned onto the wall with nails.

what should i do.

By on March 26th, 2008

there’s a person i like and he’s going to go over to my house today or tomorrow. im not going to be there. i have a certificate of perfect score in math up in the kitchen wall. i want him to see it, so i told my grandpa to put it up on the living room wall. i don’t want him to sense my intention, so i just asked him why he would put this on this wall. so he said he’s going to put it in his room. i told him to put it in the living room, but im not sure if he’s going to follow up on this. he’s ambiguous at times. the reason i want him to see it is because he knows about my mental condition and i want him to realize that im ill because i have a high intelligence. i always think about what he would be thinking about me and he thinks that im not that good with things to do with my hand like handling tools, so i put something i made on the tv, which is black and the thing i made i very bright coloured colourful spring. my grandpa saw this whole thing and he probably thinks im nuts.

i was doing this while i was late. he might already have a sense that i like him, but i don’t want him to know more about it. im going to ask him if he put the certificate up on the living room wall, but would he sense my intention. he said that no one is coming to our house, but i know that he is because i heard him talking on the phone. 2 ways to get into our house, but someone doesn’t like people coming in the other door, so he’s going to come into the living room door. most of all, i don’t want him to notice this. would my grandpa tell this guy that i made efforts to show this to him if he senses my intention.
should i tell my grandpa to take it off the tv and ask him if he put it in the living room. im worried that he might talk about this to that person that i was in a hurry to do it and it must be probably because i wanted to show him. i don’t want anyone to know about my feelings, so im very careful.
this person is 40 years older than me.

How do you crack a coconut open on a deserted island.

By on March 24th, 2008

I know how to do it in my kitchen. but, say you got shipwrecked on a tropical island and you have no tools at your disposal, you’re starving to death, and all that’s around is coconut trees. How do you crack a coconut open with just what’s available without spilling the milk. Is there any survival technique.

Also, how do island dwellers open their coconuts. Do they use specific tools, or do they just use what’s available.

What do you think of this gift.

By on March 21st, 2008

My best friend and I are getting married within 6 months of each other and have been doing all of our planning and having a great time. I wanted to do something special for her and get her a gift for her shower that wasn’t a kitchen tool or lingere. I am thinking about ordering her Tiffany and Co. toasting glasses for her wedding. I figured it was some nice stemware (which we both enjoy) and something she can give her daughter someday to use at her wedding.

Would you like a gift like this.

Garage flat roof Whether you have an old

By admin on January 24th, 2008

Garage flat roof

Whether you have an old garage or if you construct a new one you
should take into consideration the quality and the type of roof that
you choose for your garage. You might encounter problems with a
home inspector if you don t have an adequate roof for your garage.
He may cite your garage. And of course you want to make sure you have
a stable and reliable roof that can face a massive rainfall.

A flat roof with sagged joists allows rainwater to pool at the center,
rather than draining toward the roof edges. This is a common
problem and it affects nearly all the so-called flat roofs. Having an
insufficient roof slope promotes standing pools of rainwater and
this increases the likelihood of leakage as the roof becomes older.

Roof drains should be installed at each low point of the roof. Since
the roof joists have sagged it seems that they were not designed to
support accumulated water. Therefore if you can add drains at the
lower points of the roof it could prolong the life of your roof.

Gadgets for your garage

If you spend a lot of your time at home in your garage or if
you want a clean and organized garage you need a few
gadgets. Garage gadgets come in many forms and for different
purposes.

For example a stop light for parking may come in handy for
someone who has a problem with depth perception or for
someone who comes home late from work and is very tired. If you
have such problems, you need this tool. It is easy to install
and use and it helps you to park the car in the same spot
every time when the motion sensors are triggered.

If you need space on the walls next to the door, you can
mount a garage door opener on the ceiling above the door
to eliminate chains.

Bike storage is ideal in a garage for hanging your bike on a
wall so you have easy access to it with the advantage of having
more clear space in the garage.

If you have a lot more items in your garage than you really have
Room for or the walls are full of shelves and cabinets, you
definitely need additional storage devices like an overhead
storage system mounted directly on the ceiling.

Custom Made Kitchen Cabinet Inserts I specialize in

By admin on December 26th, 2007

Custom Made Kitchen Cabinet Inserts

I specialize in finding unique kitchen cabinet inserts for my company. I find artisans that make kitchen cabinet inserts made of stained glass or etched glass. I have found several artisans that can take orders and make one of a kind kitchen cabinet inserts.

My boss told me last fall that we needed to find kitchen cabinet inserts that featured a holly leaf theme for Christmas. The customer apparently changes kitchen cabinet inserts with the season. The kitchen cabinet inserts that she had before the holly leaf themed ones featured suns and moons.

I found two different artisans that were interested in making the holly leaf themed kitchen cabinet inserts. One of the artisans wanted to use etched glass and the other artisan wanted to use stained glass. The client ultimately chose the stained glass artisan.

My boss took a client a couple of years ago that was elderly and wealthy. She originally had plain glass kitchen cabinet inserts for her cabinets. She was a real enthusiastic admirer of roses.

The artisan that I found for the lady that loved roses was really sweet. She sent a photo of her favorite rose bush to me to give to the artisan. He made kitchen cabinet inserts with stained glass representations of her favorite rose, the April Moon.

The elderly client only bought one insert at first. She enjoyed the insert so much that she decided to hire that same artisan to complete her kitchen with custom kitchen cabinet inserts. Her project has been one of my favorites.

The next rose that she had put on her kitchen cabinet inserts was the Snow Ruby. This was a very striking flower that had won her a first place ribbon in a local rose competition. The stained glass kitchen cabinet inserts look better than the etched, I think.

I have used the artisan that made the rose kitchen cabinet inserts several times over the last few years. He was able to make some very unique and beautiful items. He has made an ivy design for some kitchen cabinet inserts that I sold to someone in Norfolk, Virginia.

I found someone in Florida that makes beautiful kitchen cabinet inserts with frosted glass. I commissioned him to make two dozen kitchen cabinet inserts for a client in New Jersey. I have developed a good relationship with dozens of artists.

I found an excellent artist to make some special kitchen cabinet inserts for a client in Vermont. The medium that this artist uses is inlaid wood. The kitchen cabinet inserts were exquisite. I promised that client that the exact design would never be reused.

Kitchen cabinet inserts give people the opportunity to truly personalize their kitchens. The delight that I see in people’s faces is really gratifying. People feel so special when a design for kitchen cabinet inserts is made just for them. I like being part of that.

I used the artist that made in inlaid wood kitchen cabinet inserts for my Vermont customer to do a custom job for me. My kitchen cabinet inserts used a geometric design that fits very well with my personality and my dיcor. I had the artist use a variety of local wood to give my kitchen a natural feel.

Initial Design Considerations The modes of heat gain

By admin on November 14th, 2007

Initial Design Considerations

The modes of heat gain in a space may include solar
radiation and heat transfer through the construction
together with heat generated by occupants, lights and
appliances and miscellaneous heat gains as air
infiltration should also be considered.
Sensible heat (or dry heat) is directly added to the
conditioned space by conduction, convection and
radiation. Latent heat gain occurs when moisture is
added to the space (e.g., from vapour emitted by the
cooking process, equipment and occupants). Space
heat gain by radiation is not immediate. Radiant
energy must first be absorbed by the surfaces that
enclose the space (walls, floor, and ceiling) and by the
objects in the space (furniture, people, etc.). As soon
as these surfaces and objects become warmer than
the space air, some of the heat is transferred to the air
in the space by convection (see picture 2).
To calculate a space cooling load, detailed building
design information and weather data at selected
design conditions are required. Generally, the following
information is required:
building characteristics
configuration (e.g, building location)
outdoor design conditions
indoor design conditions
operating schedules
date and time of day
However, in commercial kitchens, cooking processes
contribute the majority of heat gains in the space.

The first thing to do is plan the

By admin on November 9th, 2007

The first thing to do is plan the basic
layout for the space. Different plan lay-
outs, from the simplest to the most elabo-
rate, will feature three primary work cen-
tres, each related to one of the basic pieces
of kitchen equipment: receiving and stor-
age, food preparation, and cooking.
Ideally, kitchen planning places the
three centres in sequence, starting with
receiving and storage, proceeding to
preparation and ending with cooking and
serving. This leads to a typical layout with
refrigerator, sink, and range in that order,
spaced out with work counters and stor-
age between the major appliances.
The most favoured arrangements are:

Straight Line the three centres lined
up in order.

L-Shape the centres are in order but
are bent around a corner to fit the space
available in the kitchen and to reduce
paths of work movement.

U-Plan one centre is on each of the
three sides of the layout. This is the most
popular layout.

An island in an L-shaped or U-shaped
plan makes either the range or the sink
accessible from several directions.
After selecting the basic layout that suits
your needs, it is time to move on to the
detailed planning of work surfaces, storage,
and equipment selection and placement.
This is the stage where your budget is the
key factor in determining your selec-
tions.
