Not sure. I do know that if you are on income support that you can get some kind of loan from them to fund things like that but the criteria for getting it is a lot of hassle. My friend who does own his own home got one but it was mainly just for updating his house to the more modern standards. They take a certain amount of his money each week to pay it back. Then again he is a pensioner so that may have something to do with it as well.

Other than that the govt. says it will give you a grant to upgrade your insulation and heating to more economical ones but when I tried they turned me down so I’m not so sure of that either.

Best of luck though and hope you have some success.

Have look at this and study the links.

There are things like Warm Front grants and Home Improvement Agency grants, and local councils have different policies about grants and loans so have a look at yours.

The answer is probably “no” if your kitchen is functional but just a bit shabby, but there are grants if a disabled person for instance needed adaptations.

No.

Unless you are disabled and need your kitchen adapted, or something like that, then the government won’t help. They’re not going to waste tax payers’ money on handing out grants for people to get a new kitchen, and will take the view that if you can’t afford it, don’t buy it.
