Another for My Smooth Crinimal, sorry lol.
By on January 10th, 2010
First why do people rant, they ask for advice you give it lol. One thing about me is that I don’t change what alot of people say, e.g its to descriptive, as there are good books that are a little to descriptive, but your info was helpful. As I said I changed most of the flaws, here you go have a read, and say if you like it better.remember the house is new for them lol and the dads a great cook, thats why he inspected the kitchen e.g
After Dad had finally opened the front door, I slowly made my way into the neat entrance hall, and then across into the large living room. As I curiously looked around, the heating gradually began to kick in, allowing my depression to slowly slip away. Ignoring the fact that Dad had just entered the nearby kitchen, I began to look at all of the furniture which Dad had already ordered. A plasma screen TV hung on the wall, just in front of a glass table surrounded by leather arm chairs. I turned fully around to see a skilfully crafted dining table, chairs and a few empty glass shelves, standing elegantly in one corner. Once I had approved of everything in this room, I walked over to a flight of wooden stairs but stopped, as I decided to let Dad know where I was going.
“Hey Dad, I’m going to check upstairs,” I called, as I hadn’t been bothered to walk into the kitchen and start a conversation. A second later, Dad poked his head into the living room with a kind of amused smile on his face.
“Hey Chez, this new kitchen is fantastic, the stove runs so smoothly,” he commented eagerly. I should of known that he would have been fascinated in there, as he was also a decent cook. Ashamed of my Dad’s childish behavior, I sarcastically raised my eyebrows, which caused him to give me a look of concern. “Oh sorry, do you want me to come with.” He asked, sounding as if he wanted me to say no, so that he could go back to his precious kitchen.
“ Don’t worry I’ll be fine anyway I think you should get back to your stove, it’s starting to miss you.”
Which finish for newly sanded pine floorboards.
By on January 9th, 2010
I am shortly to sand down an expanse of fairly modern pine floorboards throughout my downstairs reception room and kitchen. The reason being, the current surface appears to have an unpleasant yellow-y/orange varnish which I don’t like and is impossible to keep looking clean (i.e. it never appears clean even when thoroughly scrubbed and washed). The timber itself is not particularly characterful or attractive, being relatively modern (maybe 15 years old or so), but in very sound condition. It looks just like cheap pine planks purchased from a timber wholesaler. My builder has recommended Danish Oil as a finish, but I am not sure. Does anyone have any other suggestions that will keep the wood looking fairly light and natural looking, be durable and not trap dirt.
cabinet hardware repainting. primer, paint, clear coat.
By on January 8th, 2010
I am repainting the hardware for our kitchen cabinets. They were a gold/bronze metal finish and I now painted them black (wrought iron look) I primed them times 2 coats and painted them times 2 coats. Now i’m wondering if i need to put a clear coat on them. Is it necessary. Home Depot never mentioned that but my brother suggested it. . Thank you.

Awkward spot for vent hood in kitchen.
By on January 4th, 2010
We are remodeling our kitchen, and our range is located at the bar. (One side is a counter top with the stove, and the other side sits higher as the bar) My problem is, the only vent hood that would work in this awkward position is the really expensive stainless hood that drops straight out the ceiling (they are made to use for stoves on an island, etc) Well, we can’t afford something that expensive just for a hood, so what would be the negative consequences of not even putting a vent hood in the kitchen period. Let me know, because I really could care less to have a vent hood, but I wanted to make sure I could get away with that without any problems.

I’m pretty sure I heard an unattached cow’s head screeching in the kitchen.
By on January 2nd, 2010
I know this sounds crazy. I don’t think I would believe it either. But I would bet money that it happened.
At first I wasn’t looking in the direction of the skinned cow head, then I heard what at the moment sounded like a dying animal, but I knew it was probably just the sink or something. I turned my head around and for the 1st time I saw this skinned cow head, eyeball, teeth, in place etc. that my parents bought from a butcher yesterday, which I had no idea that they did. Plus, I don’t think they have ever bought an animal’s head like that. They got it from the butcher’s dead like that with only its head.
And I very much doubt it was the sink. It really seemed like somehow the sound came from the cow. I mean, I don’t think it was alive, but somehow it was able to produce a sound. What happened. Does anyone believe me.
I dont feel bad, I ate meat right after
When should floor kitchen cabinets be screwed to the wall if at all.
By on January 1st, 2010
Should kitchen floor cabinets be screwed to the wall when installing. We just finished installing the wall cabinets. The floor cabinets are level. We have shemed the cabinets. Any suggestions. Do we need to wait until we have our counter tops installed.
