Alright all you interior design mavens.how do I do this.
By on January 20th, 2010
I’m trying to put together the floorplan for our kitchen, when I build it, but I’m not too sure how to work it.
I know I want the fridge at an angle between two walls (like, in the corner). From the one side will come a wall and the other side a counter.
At the end of the counter, I want it to L off into a dining space on the opposite side. (like a connected island, at the end).
I want the sink to be in the middle of the counter and the stove to be in the smaller L part, and I really *really* want a wall oven. But none of that logistically seems to go together.
Where is a wall oven going to go with an angled fridge, unless it sticks out. It could be on the other side of the fridge on the opposite wall (before we get to the door), but that would look pretty strange, wouldn’t it. And no cabinets. Only Old European “table” style counters with freestanding ground cabinets (that’s what I’m doing with the other wall. So the problem that presents is.really where is the oven going to go.)
Anyone have any logistical advice.
Thanks. =)

Rinse Cycle on Washer backing up in bar sink.what do i do. Also, what is this plumbing tool.
By on January 18th, 2010
In my finished basement, my washer sits directly behind a wall from the sink in my small bar kitchen. On the floor in that kitchen there is a covered drain with a “clean out”. When my washer hits rinse cycle, the water exits the washer into the tube, into a pvc pipe that disappears through the wall into a “T” under the sink. Normally it would drain out and the backup into the sink would be very minor. I know this doesn’t sound ideal, but it was working and i’ve only owned the house 2 years so i didn’t complain.
Now, when it hits drain before rinse and spin, the sink overflows unless i interrupt the drain cycle and give it time to recede. Now, on the floor the covered (softball size manhole cover with swisscheese like holes in it) drain makes gurgling noises. The house is 50 years old.
My questions are as follows.
A) Can i pour any drain cleaners down the sink or into the floor drain. I don’t wait to destroy old pipes that could be infested quite possibly with roots of the large trees in my back yard.
B) What is the name of the device that’s like a balloon that you can screw onto a hose.i thought i could use one of these to build pressure up and push the clog out of the underground pipe that appears to be clogged.
C) From the sounds of this situation, what would you recommend overall. Thanks for your help.
What career could I get with the things I like. (list).

Hello, I am a 13 year old girl and I was thinking about college and what I would like to study. (It’s never too early to start thinking. (: ) Anyways, there is a saying that you have to find a way to make money off of the things you like or are interested in. Well, every time I go to stores, I am mainly interested in what will look good in my living room, kitchen, bathroom, and room. And I LOVE to design bags (I have designed 3 bags already. Well, drew on them and everyone likes them) I love to watch America’s Most Wanted (I’m so into it.) I would say I am a perfectionist and I’m a neat well organized person. So, overall I am interested in:
Art
Criminal Justice (although I would hate to see a person die and if I were a surgeon I would hate being pressured to hurry up.)
Drama (When I get to high school I would like to be in a drama club)
How the body works (medical things.)
If there is any suggestions on what carrers I could study for, please please, tell me.
I don’t like math so no careers that involve math. (easy math is fine like fractions and ratios and things like that. No hard algebra calculus mumbo jumbo.)
I would like my Kitchen-Craft cabinets to open 180 degrees.
By on January 16th, 2010
I currently have Kitchen-Craft cabinets with European style hinges in my kitchen. All of the cabinet doors open 90 degrees (which I believe is “standard” for European style hinges). I would like one of my cabinets to open 180 degrees. There is nothing next to it so it would not hit anything. is there an appropriate hinge to replace what I have.
Can I join a light wood flooring to a dark wood flooring.
By on January 15th, 2010
I want to lay beech coloured flooring in my lounge so that it contrasts well with my dark blinds and furniture, but in the connecting kitchen I have light beech cabinets so would want to lay dark flooring to contrast with them. Can I do this or will it just look wrong. If so, what’s the best way to do it. Or should I just scrap the idea and continue with the light wood flooring throughout.
Opinions appreciated
re-flooring kitchen (what about cabinets.).

I am in the process of buying a house. and we have just seen one with a nice kitchen but ugly ceramic tile flooring. Is it possible to refloor the kitchen without disassemble all of the cabinets. we would like to put a nice quality laminate. but we don`t know if the presence of the cabinets will make everything more expensive for us (we would use a decorator, not do it ourselves).
your help is really appreciated.
How to get rid of pet odor.
By on January 13th, 2010
We are boarding our cats & a friend is keeping our 3 small dogs. All of them will be out of the house for 1 week. We are doing this so that we can completely clean and remove the odors (from where they have used the bathroom) from the floors and walls. They don’t use the bathroom on the walls except for the cats when they go up as they pee. But we want to, like I said, completely get rid of the odors as much as possible while they are not in the house.
The only rooms in the house that have carpet is 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. We are ripping up the carpets and replacing them with laminate. But before as soon as we rip up the carpet and before we put down the laminate we want to get the floors as clean and odor free as possible. The kitchen, one short hallway, one long hallway, laundry room and my bathroom have linoleum. The living room and my bedroom don’t have any type of flooring except for the subfloor. *We are in the middle of doing some remodeling*
What is the best way to clean all these types of floors and the walls to get them as clean as possible and get rid of the pet odors so that when we bring our babies back in the house, it will be like a clean slate and there will be no familiar bathroom area. Please, any advice will be great.
I’m going to tell you how to make your own online store.
By on January 12th, 2010
1. You are going to need to find something to sell. (Clothing, Accessories, Candles, Perfume, Kitchen Supplies, Electronics, Shoes, etc.)
2. You need to make a website to sell your products, I recommend www.vendio.com it is the only eCommerce hosting site that doesn’t charge you fees or anything. It is 100% free. You can also use a custom domain (example: cassiesclothing.com)
3. Once you sign up on www.vendio.com you can customize your site and make it more you.
4. Then you need to take pictures of your products (with a nice camera)
5. Then you need to start adding items to your store & setting prices.
Then you will make money. so bam.
Kitchen Design ideas.

I am having a home built and starting everything from scratch, I would like a few ideas. We have custom oak cabinetry being made, we can pick the stain color. We are planning on having just vinyl flooring, it will have stainless steel appliances. It will have a formica counter top. So my question is, What is a nice combination of stains/counter colors/floor design to compliment each other. I like rich colors, clean lines and a nice flow. The flooring will flow from the kitchen to the bathroom and laundry room also. Any idea would be nice.
