I was initially going to antique my kitchen cabinets w/a white base. Now that I’ve seen these:

I have to have them. But I can’t afford $5000 Kraftmaid cabinets so I’m thinking I’m going to DIY. I’ve got the color down, but do you think she antique’d them. Also, what color is this to you. I say it’s more in the blue family while hubby says it’s green & my mom says gray. Thanks so much.

wow I love that window, and the cabinets also. Well the add says that they are sage green. to me they look as if they are in the blue green family. You know with ads and lighting, the walls are yellow and counters burgundy so that also can make the color look different.
I would go to your local Lowes or home depot and the the cabinets of the shelf ( buy the best ones they have) Also buy some really nice hardware (this will add to the look of the cabinets and help them to look more custom)
Lowes and home depot will at time have granite that someone order then decide that they no longer want it, you can get this for half price if not less)
You can also get discount paint from Lowes and home depot ( I have found lowes to be the better place for this.)
Goodluck i’m sure it will look awesome. when you are finish post picture on HGTV.com

The cabinets are sage green, it is written under the photo. I don’t think that they are antiqued. However they would look great with glaze To glaze, your cabinets must have some type of design in them. You use stain applied with a brush to get into the crevices and then wipe off. It will leave the stain in the crevices. Change out your hardware and you will be amazed at how much you have improved your kitchen.

Ready to assemble wood cabinets are easy to install and affordable. You can also easily DIY and antique them. It looks greenish to me and I think it would look lovely antiqued. Good luck.

Have you considered reaching out to a local woodworker, instead of buying Kraftmaid cabinets. They might be able to help you with installation or at the very least point you in the right direction.
There’s a great directory/resource at http://www.CustomMade.com - check it out.
