I want to stack my washing machine above my dishwasher.

By on October 5th, 2009

I am remodelling my kitchen and it would make my life so much easier if the w/machine could go above the dishwasher - probably on a fixed platform rather than directly on top. Has anyone ever done this. Is it possible. I’m a pretty good DIYer and would probably anchor the w/machine to the wall (somehow.).
Ok, so what about the other way around. Dishwasher on top of washing machine.

how can I keep my fridge door from swinging open wide all the way.

By on October 4th, 2009

I bought this new fridge. not to go into too much detail but leveling it has been very difficult because of the way the floor is and the surrounding space and the design of the fridge etc.I’ve pulled it out twice and still haven’t quite got it.as it is,its pretty much level, but when i open the door, it will slowly swing out all the way and wack into one of the chairs of my kitchen table.until i get around to working on it again, I wonder if theres some sort of door product, like a wedge or plastic spring or something you can buy to keep that from happening.something that you can clip or afix on to the door that will keep the door from opening past a certain point.

How do I salvage my tile after we botched a DIY installation.

By on October 2nd, 2009

We tried to lay our own tile in the kitchen and we’re having cracks and huge chunks of grout coming up. Some tiles are even popping up. I suspect we didn’t prepare the Hardibacker board as we should have.I also think we should have used roofing nails and we didn’t.

The floor needs to be redone and I want to salvage the tile to have it professionally laid. Any chance of that happening.

How can I find what it used to be.

By on October 1st, 2009

There is an abandoned building (there are a lot here ) in the town where I live, Someone just purchased it and I went inside to take a look. WHen I walked in what I guess was the side door there was a gym/auditorium then there’s a big kitchen and upstairs are what seem to be religion books. So I wanted to know if there’s a place online where I can find deeds or some type of historical website where I can find what that building used to be and why it was abandoned. Thanks. :]
