When can a child understand “NO”.

I watch two kids who are 17 months and 2.5 years. They get into everything that they are not suppose to and when I say “No” they just look at me like I am stupid and keep doing what they were doing. The parents refuse to childproof the house so I am constantly running them out of the kitchen cabinets to keep them from getting into cleaning chemicals, or grabbing them from behind the big screen TV where they like to pull on cords. I have been working of “No” with them for at least 4 months but I don’t think the parents ever tell them “No.” The youngest doesn’t talk at all, and the oldest will repeat most words you say to him, but doesn’t talk on his own. The youngest also just started walking. I know they are delayed, but I am trying to figure out if they really understand me and are making it into a game, or if they don’t understand the concept of “No” yet.
Yes, the parents do let them run around and tear up everything. Can you imagine what the house looks like. Their favorite thing to do is pull every VHS/DVD off the shelves that take the movie out of the case. I try to distract them with something else, I move them away from what they were doing, but then they just run back over there. The 2.5 year old I put in time out, but he will only stay there for a minute.

Can you give me advice on decorating my kitchen. I have a few concerns, thanks.

I have been bouncing back and forth from wanting stainless appliances & back to white again. I have been told that the white doesn’t look good with the cream cabinets. And then told that the stainless looks too fancy for my kitchen/older cabinets.

and for the back drop - I would like to replace the fruity tiles with something more neutral colored, will this help.

Should I place little rugs in front of the stove and sink. If so, what colors st lye. Any advice welcome. Please no rude comments about my kitchen. I’m young. thanks

ok this girls name is kylie. Not a lot of people like her, and even my mom doesnt, she thinks she starts trouble. I ignored those people and thought she was really nice. until now. She always thinks im talking about her, and at lunch, she tells these jokes about me that are hurtful and mean. ( even my friends notice it)
So then shes leaving me all these messages on myspace saying. i heard u talking about. me. and blah blah.
On aim this is our convo.
Kylie: (auto responce from:.) Is loving life hating one person but idfc.
Me: I’m done with you.
Kylie: thanks for stealing MY LINE
Kylie: you know im not afraid of you
Kylie: you think your so tuff., bahaha :p
Then she signs off.

Then there are the two other friends that are my BEST friends. and they hang out with her. and one of thems name is lexi, and lexi doesnt even like her that much. and kylie is always leaving comments on myspace saying I love u alexis. and its getting annoying for me and alexis. and me and alexis bto hsee how mean to me she is.
IN CLASS YESTERDAYY.
I go to turn around to talk to lexi, and kylie sits right next to her. ( we had 15 min of free time at the end of the day) So as i was talking to lexi. she kept saying TURN AROUND< TURN AROUND< TURN AROUND. over and over again. I never did. i wasnt going to let her tell me what to do.
SORRY THIS IS LONG>>> BUT THEN.
a long time ago in the beggining of the year. we were IM ing, and my computer was in the kitchen. so oviously my mom was around. she kept saying F*** you. and stuff liek that.
so i said. Stop swwearing. my mom doesnt let me swear online. and then shes making fun of me and stuff
I dont like to swear. i admit im a nice girl. ( goody goody girl) and sometimes. people dont like me for that. I just liek to make my family proud is all.
so NOW>>>>>> she makes fun of me for it. I told her to shut up cuz she was calling me a B**** and she goes. OHH IM SORRRY TO A GIRL WHOS NOT ALLOWED TO SWEAR.
i try to ignore it. but i cant.
i talk to the guidance counsler. No help. Kylie made fun of me saying OHHH R U GONNA GO TELL MRS( INSERT NAME HERE). like the little baby you are.
ALSO>>>shes always taking my friends away from me. so i am walking alone in the halls by myself.
IM SICK OF THIS. WHAT ON EARTH DO I DO. please and thank you very much for your time

what type of tile would go great in all areas DIY.

we wanna go with all the same tile for the first floor, its pretty much an open area included are the living room, kitchen, 1/2, laundry room and family/dinning room. not sure what type we want something with with texture as well as something different, so any ideas.

can I print ditectly on fabric using my epson printer.

I have some flour sack kitchen towels and I’d like to add a design to them. So i was wondering if I can attach one to a piece of paper and print directly on the fabric using my epson stylus 1400 printer, and photoshop.

a little extra info: I want to print a word on the towel and sew over it for a more hand made look.

Will it ruin my printer. If this is a no go then I’ll have to just get some transfer paper.

Or does anyone have anyother ideas on how I can go about creating this.

Basically, my cabinets are white, worktops and fridge are black, not sure whether to have whether to have black or white flooring and walls. Also, what type of flooring looks stylish and is relatively low maintenance. Bearing in mind as Im using the room as a kitchen and dining room, it needs to seem as big as possible.

How can I help my dog lose weight.

Hey guys, I have a really really fat beagle. He is obsessed with food, he sits in the kitchen and waits for us to throw something away then he knocks the trash can over and eats everything in it. Every day he breaks into the pantry and eats tons of stuff. I try to walk him every day but he just sits down and refuses to move. What I am asking is how can I make him less obsessed with food and get him to exercise even though he is refusing to. I have considered weight loss pills but I want to make sure there isn’t anything else can do before paying all of that money. Thanks.

Would it look bad to mix Black appliances with the Clean Steel/Stainless-Look in our kitchen.

We are building a new home and can not decide on appliances. We wanted to do all Clean Steel (The stainless look alike that does not leave fingerprints), but do not like the brand offered by the builder. So now we are trying to decide whether to go with all black appliances and a Clean Steel Fridge or all black. I am afraid with all black it will be much too dark, and we like the modern look of stainless. Our kitchen has dark Cherry cabinets and a natural oak floor with a neutral granite counter. Has anyone done this and liked it. Does anyone have pictures of them mixed in their kitchen. Thanks.
