same problem with me.you have to try and find where they come from they build nests in the walls.what i did was find where alot were and caulked the space between the wall and the floor. before i knew it there were at least 20 that had nowhere to go so they came out one spot. i sprinkled pepper around them so they were stuck in the circle of pepper ( there were some brave ones who tried to leave). after that i sprayed em all and killed em. i havent seen them since but you must find the source and where they live.

Caulking any cracks will help, but distilled white vinegar has worked wonders for me. Also you can put bay leaves on the window sill near the screens to keep them at bay (Pun). Putting ant granules under the house near the bathtub and kitchen plumbing area also helps.

Those tiny little whispy ants are called ghost ants and they are the hardest to get rid of.

Raid will not help you.

Caulking any entry points into your kitchen is one of the best lines of defense. Do windows, doors, where your plumbing comes out of the wall under your sink, any gaps between cabinets and wall and also cabinets and floor. Check around your A/C vents or hood vent above your stove–these are all likely places they can be getting in from. Sometimes, (if you can stomach it) you can let them gather and watch them form a line from your kitchen counter right to where they are getting in (they are carrying food back to the nest).

Get ghost ant bait (Home Depot, Lowe’s, or a professional pest control product) or have a pest company come out and treat them. Truly Nolan did a great job getting rid of mine after I failed miserably in trying to get rid of them myself. Our chatty pest control guy explained about entry points and the fact that these ants often build huge nests inside your walls and in the attic. They also live under mulch in your planting beds and they are so tiny, they can get into the smallest cracks to gain entry into your home. You have to kill the nest or they will keep coming back.

Using Raid only kills the ones you see.

Good Luck.
