I recommend 5/8 if your pressure washer is 4gpm. It sounds like you need an indoor tap connector. These are also available in brass and plastic. But I am assuming you are using it outdoors and a regular hose will fit your outdoor hose bib. Buy a very good garden hose and I agree with 5/8. The cheap hoses will burst very quickly. The hose I use with my pressure washer is a fiberglass reinforced hose.
