So far, I’ve painted my den, livingroom, and kitchen. My next project is to wallpaper my foyer. My daughter is upset about the wallpaper because I’ll be covering up a landscape mural that I painted there 19 years ago when we first moved into the house. I did my kitchen cabinets last year. It’s a big job requiring sanding, priming, and painting with oil based paint if you want it to last and not peel up from the steam generated in your kitchen. It’s also a bit expensive because the hardware is expensive. I spent almost $200 on 30 very simple and inexpensive handles. I think it’s a job best done in warm weather when you can keep the windows open to let out the fumes from the primer and paint. Good luck with your project.

I have seen a beautiful combination of colors, and am planning to do a similar color scheme in my kitchen. It is a deep red, almost burgundy and mustard yellow, with sage green and teal trim colors. I saw it in a “country” style kitchen, but plan to make it more modern here.

My big projects include, painting the basement floor, (done) tracing relatives in Europe (ongoing) daughter’s wedding (2 weeks away) and losing 49 pounds in two weeks. The last one will be the most difficult.

I should be painting the garage inside and straightening out my tools and workbench. I will likely, instead, make more sausage, can some venison, and make some jam and possibly more wine.

Course, none of those plans take precedent over my wife’s list.

I ripped the carpet off my living room floor and I don’t like that the floorboards are painted. I’m gonna strip it all to the bare wood and leave it that way. I scrubbed the walls, painted them and bought new easy chairs. I got an area rug. Right now, I’m taking a break. I overdid it.

When I am done stripping the paint off the living room floor, I will move into the dining room and scrub and paint those walls. From there, I will go to work on my kitchen and then on to another room until I repaint all the rooms in the house.

Once the weather warms up outside, I will go back out there and finish painting the wood trim on the house; something that Mother Nature interrupted me as I was half done with back in October.

My whole entire house is an ongoing project-it is 92 years old. I am afraid it will never be done. This winter I am trying to find where the cold air is coming in from and discovering all the doors are ill-fitting. On the up side it is Mine. Can’t think of any other up sides :-(

I have a few projects planned. First, going through every room, closet, cabinet, chest, shelf, and drawer; tossing, donating, cleaning and reorganizing as I go. My youngest daughter was married December 27th, my husband and I helped her and her new husband pack up her stuff and move to their new apartment last weekend (it was a 15 hour drive in the rented panel truck). Hmmm, I guess moving my daughter was my first project. I am now officially an ‘empty-nester’.

I also want to go through my computer files and reorganize them. Then go through our old family photos, and newer digital photos and get them organized.

Lastly, I will tackle the overgrown gardening beds. This is the best time of year to work in the garden in Florida.
