Do we need HVAC in our pantry.

As part of a larger whole-house remodeling job, we’re having our contractor gut a powder room (small bathroom) off the kitchen and turn it into a pantry. The existing powder room has a heating/ac vent and (even with the vent closed) can get quite warm in the winter. In the summer, without ac, we’re afraid the room will not be cool enough.
Anyone have any smart ideas on what to do. Do we need HVAC in our new pantry.
Thanks.

Is this pantry over the furnace room. If so then insulate the floor or the ceiling below it. Pantry’s should be cool not hot.
