What does it mean when an HDTV has an 8ms image response time.

Does that have anything to do with how fast it is when you change the channel. I have a 19in sharp in my kitchen and its channel changing speed is horrible and online it says its image response time is 6ms. So I wanted to buy a Panasonic 32in (TC-32LX85) and that says its image response is 8ms. I’d like to channel flip not flop.

It does not mean how fast you change the channel. When a HDTV has a 8ms image response time it means how fast it minimizes the blurring of moving video from one image to another. The lower the number the better. HDTV televisions usually you will find the average is 8 ms which your eyes cannot tell the response time from one image to another.

8ms means 8 milliseconds old tvs take long time to get the signal but urs takes no time at all i guessing if its faster then maybe its too fast get 32 inch if its bigger maybe more memory and 8ms is better and panasonic in my opinon is better than sharp
