old, ugly, lead paint, asbestos, laid out wrong, kitchen needs more cabinets and counter space, old, nasty bathroom, no closets, small closets, no sunlight, no drafts for nice windy days, no ceiling lights, bad lighting design, over 70 years old, mosquitos, swamp, mice, big roaches from time to time, small ones too, gnats, small, dark, etc

Need a counter top idea for remodeling.

We are making a half wall in our condo kitchen and would like something unique for the counter top that will be there. Something you wouldn’t see every day. Something inexpensive if possible. Something rough maybe, unfinished. Any ideas. we will be putting shelves underneath it and it will be kinda a half wall that opens into the entryway dining room and living room.

Some DIY blokes who did our wooden flooring, staircase and kitchen tiling broke some of my stuff .

At the time I was in my room, they also did a LOT of painting - which mean’t the staircase was blocked a lot, so i didnt go down much incase I disturbed them. ( i stock piled grub upstairs that time ).

One day I heard a load ’smashy’ noise, like something got dropped.

They finished the job 3 days ago. Stuff was disconnected, moved around etc etc.

I plugged in one of my pc’s , a desktop, 2004 dell model (we have 4 desktops and 3 laptops) and noticed that the chasis was busted, the fan making horrible whirry noises and the dell monitor with a 2 inch crack in it , in the top right hand corner.

Also, our internet broadband filter thing - was busted - this was fine until they arrived. Turns out they must ahve moved our tv across and smacked it into it.

So thats 2 things damaged. Wait theres a 3rd too.

A ‘New York’ souveneir plate, mounted on a piece of bronze was shattered in 3 pieces, and thrown into the ‘rubbish’ - i found it and was shocked to see it like that, luckily I used glue and mended it together.

I know who is responsible for this damage, but they did a spanking good job with the DIY stuff - i mean really good job. but they damaged some of our stuff. Too late for me to do anything about it . or should I get in touch with them and ask them to resolve this for me . my damaged items . where do i stand legally .

how would you enter a contest that remodels your kitchen for you. like on HGTV.

i WOULD LIKE TO ENTER MY MOM IN ONE OF THOSE CONTEST ON HGTV BUT I DONT KNOW HOW. SHE REALLY WANTS A NEW KITCHEN, SO IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO ENTER THAT WOULD BE GREAT.

I have the weirdest odour coming from the inside of my house. any ideas.

It is the weirdest smell. I thought it was my fridge CUz my fridge smells funny. (i have to change the deodorizer) I cleaned the fridge out. My whole house was smelling weird. i opened all the windows and doors. The rest of the house smells better but my kitchen is soooo off. I t doesn’t smell like the sink . I used backing soda too tr to clear the smell. My garbage isn’t full and it doesnt have anything smelly in it. What could it be. My house is clean, no rotten food hidden any where as far as i know. It smells almost like pooish .lol

ps I have no animals and no smoking
