After watching several episodes of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares and even one or two of Hell’s Kitchen and seeing the completed dishes, I noticed that they sometimes have a poached or sunnyside egg on the plate. Is there a particular significance for this. Does it have something to do with some sort of European style of cooking.
I have rarely, if ever, seen a meal (especially one from a fine dining, upscale restaurant) that contains a poached or sunnyside egg on the plate.
Anyone.

I’ve never seen Ramsay do that. I guess it would depend on the dish.

Honestly, I think its all about the presentation that the egg gives. At first site, it makes the meal look appetizing.
I have never thought of that, but I have noticed it a couple of times as well. Good catch.
