We are making a half wall in our condo kitchen and would like something unique for the counter top that will be there. Something you wouldn’t see every day. Something inexpensive if possible. Something rough maybe, unfinished. Any ideas. we will be putting shelves underneath it and it will be kinda a half wall that opens into the entryway dining room and living room.

Call the Kansas State University Student Union, and talk to Jack or Bernard, and see if they’ll sell you the pink granite counter tops in bulk storage. It’s used, but still has a good surface, and it would need re-cut to size. The Building Managers and Maint. crew would want to hug you for getting it out of bulk storage. If you talk to Jack, I would offer about 400$ for all of it.

how about an antique/rustic door.
i like unusual stuff.my coffee table is made from an old beat up hog trough , i also once rescued a barn beam away from a bon fire right before it was going in, and made it into my fireplace mantle
