Orange color scheme for open concept living room/kitchen.

I am trying to come up with a decorating scheme for my open concept living room/kitchen/dining area.
In the kitchen, the walls will be yellow, cabinets white, countertop black stone, black appliances, and black and white checkered floor. It will look kind of like a modernized 50’s diner.
I am not sure how to integrate this style into the living room. My hubby and I are pretty rock n’ roll, but also quite modern/contemporary. We wanted to paint the living room walls a burnt orange color, but weren’t sure about any of the other colors to use.
We thought about keeping the white crown moulding/window sills/baseboards. What I need are some suggestions for decor colors that will connect our living space to our kitchen.

Since you are going for orange walls, I would keep your large pieces of furniture more neutral and add white (to match the molding and baseboards) and orange accessories. This would tie in the with 50’s modern style you have in the kitchen. You could also add some touches of bright green - I think it would be great with the orange.
Good luck with your decorating.
