what does being messy and leaving clutter etc.around your room or house say about a person.
By on June 29th, 2008
Curious. I have a freind who has always had a really messy room and usually leaves the kitchen less than clean. Not to the point where the house smells, but always cluttery. The weird thing is, her pantry is freakin organized from beans to tuna, to mustard. A blind person could find what he wanted in her pantry. What does it say of a messy, cluttery person.
Is Directbuy worth it if you are remodelling your home.
By on June 28th, 2008
Hi, i am remodelling my home, and i was thinking about joining directbuy. i have gone to the initial seminar, and i was given a 3 day no risk trial. Is it worth $5000 for 3 years, because i am planning to good quality products:
a big screen TV, about 5 sofas, a washer and dryer, a dish washer, kitchen tiles, cabinets, freezers and everything else for a kitchen. new carpets, a dining table and a few other tables for the living room. im also remodelling 2 bathrooms and getting new beds.
Their sales pitch was quite convincing, and they seemed to have a lot of things, but the catalog they gave me to take that had very few things, and did not give their price for everything. So those of you who are members, would you say the savings are worth it.

Kitchen Help.
By on June 26th, 2008
I live with my older brother, he is 22 and I am 16 and our parents are paying for us to remodel our kitchen, which is less than state-of-the-art, lol. We want something modern but not too technical. And I want it to look nice, but I’m really not much of a designer. I was hoping all of you wonderful people on Y.A would provide me with some pictures of kitchens that I could use as references when I begin planning our kitchen. TY♥
Substitute for an idli mould.
By on June 25th, 2008
I bought a packet of “idli mix” without reading the small print. (I enjoy finding new dishes and love experimenting). Now I have seen what an idli mould is online, I am a bit stuck. Does anyone know how I could cook my idli using what is usually to be found in a British or European kitchen. Thanks.
Thanks JG - do I then steam the idli like eggs. I really would like to try them before I consider buying an idli mould, Hope. I also live in North Wales where we have little access to suitable stores.
Profession floor install or DIY.
By on June 24th, 2008
I plan to install a new kitchen floor, about 12 by 20 feet. Is it better to pay a professional to do it, or try it myself. I’ve never done any big home projects before.

Help. I need to identify a bug. It’s very tiny, brown/black and has vertical stripes. Ideas please.
By on June 22nd, 2008
For several years I would find these tiny bugs (about 1/8″) on my kitchen counters occasionally. They were always dead & looked almost like the shell of a bug. They were so light you could easily blow them off the counter. Now I’m seeing lots more of them - & these are alive. Seen mostly at night, all over the house. They fly & when they land they look like a piece of lint or something. I killed one last night & noticed the wings hang off the back of the body just slightly. Hard to see the details they are so small, but they are brown/black & have vertical stripes. When you squish them sometimes they bleed, sometimes they don’t. They fly really fast. They have a black head, no antennae. My windows are open a lot so maybe they come in thru the screens. We are in CO & they are driving me nuts. I can’t figure out if they bite or not - but after 3 days of looking all over online, I can’t figure out what they are. Can someome please help me figure out what they are. Please.
BTW - I’ve tried to take pictures of it but because it is so small and flies so fast, you can’t see it while it’s flying and when it’s sitting on something, it looks like a black dot. Same thing if you try to take a pic of it when it’s dead.
Another 2 days spent looking online and I just can’t find it. I’m almost positive it’s a common bug (even tho I never saw it before living in this house) - but I can’t find any pics of it online.
Can I paint a white side by side fridge black or apply a stainless steel look on it.
By on June 21st, 2008
We are remodeling our kitchen with new oak cabinets
Our sink and faucet will be black and the counter top
a dark bella capri laminate
My furniture is also black and the pot rack is black
I’m going to look at a black stove and dishwaster
or stainless steel this week
Is it possible to paint my fridge black ( how) or is it possible to
buy something stainless to put on the front of my fridge
(where could I buy such a product) sorry my question mark key is not working on my keyboard from kids, etc
Confused Over Waste Disposal Units For My Kitchen.
By on June 20th, 2008
Can someone advise. I’ve been looking to install a waste disposal unit in my new kitchen but I’ve never seen one in action (apart from the horror scenes in the films). I went online to look at some videos of them working and in each video, the actress stuck her fingers into the plug hole area when feeding the waste into the waste disposal unit. My question – isn’t there blades or something here. Does the word dangerous spring to mind. I’m also concerned if a child pressed the air switch and put their hands in the plug hole. Is there some sort of safety aspect to this, such as a cover or something.
Also, does anyone know which model is best either the InSinkErator 75 or Franke Turbo WD-1001. They are both continueous feed, air switch included but the Franke has 1 horsepower compared to the Insinkerator which is 0.75 hoursepower but there is also the aspect of noise. Does anyone know these products.
Thanks all.
