I guess that would depend on what you guys eat and do on the weekends. in the kitchen you need a toaster, kettle, bar mix, spice rack microwave fridge and loungroom- couches tv tv unit, stereo dvd, wii, speaker system lamps, coffee table, backyard- outdoor dining setting, bbq, maybe beer fridge potplnts, rake, shovel, lawnmower, edge trimmer, candles, heater. there is so many thigs. try the site below. i hope this helps

Stick with basic department stores like Target (target.com) that have a little of everything for evrey room of the house, and at reasonable prices. You don’t want to go overboard on spending for a new place as you will have other expenses that you have never had before. Keep it basic and simple at first, and try to avoid using credit cards to finance everything. Plastic ware in the kitchen is great for starters. Also try Ikea stores. (ikea.com), again, simple and basic and reasonably priced stuff. Both are great stores. Get a friend to throw you a housewarming party too, since this is youir first time out there. Have fun with it and resist the temptation to over-spend. Basics may include: Refrigerator, microwave, plates, cups, silverware, table, chairs, sofa, tv, stereo, bed, sheets, towels, dresser, nightstand, lamps, sundry items, computer with printer, desk. You can fill in the rest. Good luck.

Don’t forget a plunger. Just go look around a store like target or wal mart and you’ll find lots of inspiration for what you need. There is a lot of stuff you’re gonna have to get. Congrats on the new place.

When I moved out all I had was a futon (as a couch and bed) a small t.v, a coffee table that I found at a thrift store and some hand me down kitchenware. I started adding a little at a time.

I found that the process involved just buying things as we realized what we needed/wanted. Eg, if I wanted to make muffins, but there was no muffin tin, I’d put it on the shopping list. If you do it that way, you won’t end up with stuff you’ll never use.

Word to the wise: Remember to bring toilet paper first thing when you move in to the new place.

Here’s my list of things I wouldn’t want to be without:

Bed
Sheets
blanket
pillows
something to store clothes in

plates, bowls, glasses, cutlery
Some cookware and a spatula
Stove
Fridge
Dish soap and dish cloths

Towels
Toilet paper
Soap and shampoo
Stuff for cleaning the bathroom. Eg. cleanser, sponge, toilet brush
A broom and dustpan, a mop and bucket, and a vacuum cleaner if you have a rug.

A phone

Laundry soap and a washing machine.

For the yard, a lawn mower is obvious.
