Tile the kitchen Floor or install cabinets first.

By on April 10th, 2008

When remodeling a kitchen, should the base cabinets go in first, and then tile around them, or should everything be ripped out, the floor installed and then the cabinets installed.

Anybody familiar with RTA (Ready to assemble) kitchen cabinets. I bought a couple and assembled them.

They are all plywood (1/2″) with sold wood 3/4″ frame. I notice they don’t become sturdy though unless you screw them down to the wall and esp when you put a countertop there. It’s almost like a 1/2″ plywood box with a sold wood frame. Anybody have any experience with these. They seem nice.

For me:

Something that looks like a medieval castle on the outside. but on the inside, has all the modern ammenities that we know and love. I’d want a fantasic kitchen, with marble counter tops. All sorts of appliances. ( I love to cook ). I’d want plenty of salt water fish tanks, with various sea creatures, brightly coloured fish, etc. A huge master bedroom, with a huge bed. I’d want a walk-in shower, all done in marble. I’d also love my own movie theatre, with comfy chairs. I’d love to decorate in the Art Deco style, Egyptian/Middle Eastern/Morrocan. A spiral staircase.

And so, so much more. Tell me your’s.

My home is almost ten years old.started with the basics in decorating my kitchen. Now I have the opportunity to revamp it.colors I have chosen are in the teal family. My friend suggested browns, reds, earthy tones. I have looked at hobby lobby, michaels, Ross, etc. but can not find anything interesting. Does anyone know where I can find such items at discount or do it yourself stores.
Any themes that I should go with.

The G-floor During the last years, the garage

By admin on April 1st, 2008

The G-floor

During the last years, the garage has become an important
extension of the house. More and more people remodel their
garage giving it a new purpose, for example transforming it into a
home office, a workshop, a music studio and even adding a new
room on top of it. If you are the type that needs to have a workshop
in his garage and you also want to park your car inside it you
definitely have to install a G-floor.

This type of flooring keeps your garage looking new whatever
activities you choose to do inside and also does a great job in
hiding cracks and stains while protecting the floor from oil, battery
acid, grease, brake fluids, salt, antifreeze, mud or other dirt that
finds its way into the garage. If you are living in a colder climate
, you definitely know what a mess winter snow and salt
make in your garage, this floor is easy to clean , you just have to
hose it off.

If you are thinking of remodeling your garage, you must consider the
option of installing a G-floor for several reasons: the coin-pattern
flooring is easy to install, rather cheap, durable and gives a great
look to your workshop-garage.
