You can use a Pry bar and a hammer. Just gently tap the pry bar behind the tiles and they should pop off.

Take your time, because it can be frustrating. If you don’t have a pry bar, a flat head screwdriver will do.

Good Luck.

I’d go at it with a putty knife and hammer. Tap the end of the putty knife along a grout line until you get under the edge of a tile, then you should be able to pop it off. If you have troubles with some tiles just tap them lightly with the hammer until they crack then go back to prying with the putty knife. Shouldnt be too difficult. I removed some tile from a backsplash that was professionally done in the early 80s and once I got going the tiles were practically falling off.
