Is there any inexpensive way to change the look of a room whose walls are tiled.

We’re buying a new house, and I love it. The only problem is the kitchen. It’s small and very dated. The walls are tiled, so I don’t know how I can change the look of the kitchen without an expensive remodel. Is there any way to paint over or disguise a tiled wall.

Only by covering the tile with a panel, go to home depot buy a decorative panel (you can cut the exact dimensions with a regular box cutter.

I suggest those metal raised panels people are using so much this days, gives the kitchen a mediterranean look, very nice.

P.S: it may be cheaper to simply tear off the tile and plaster the walls and paint.

the truly best hing to do is take the tile down if thats not what you want get a compound like joint or a plaster and apply a thin coat 2-3 times easier to take tile down you going to be putting mud there anyway

there are several options. talk to someone at Lowe’s or Home Depot. Many backboards can be placed over the tile, corian, even new tile.

Eevn you can rip out the old tile and replace it with another tile or panel, likely for less than $1000.

Tiles can be painted. Unfortunately, only with a professional because of the chemicals that they have to use.
