I think I have mice. I bought this air conditioner and it stopped working and the repairman told me it was.

I have traps that catch them alive. It is a little wire mesh cage with a trip lever inside. Mice cannot resist a little piece of chocolate cookie. FORGET CHEESE myth.
Can you buy this little trap-alive thing in your city.

On television I saw a method of catching them alive. A tall plastic bucket (2 feet tall minimum) with bait in the bottom. Provide a ramp for the mice to reach the bucket’s top edge. Mice will jump down into the bucket, but cannot jump 2 feet back up. THEY CAN jump 18 inches. (I’ve never tried this method)

third method, never fails for me: A GLUE TRAP with small small small piece of chocolate cookie in the middle. Place glue trap where other animals never go. Under kitchen cupboards, under 5 bricks, under the porch, etc.
Mice die in a few minutes from physical stress / fright.

you need to think of all possible ways they can get into your house and block them
the second and best advice is to remove all what mice find eatable from easily accessed places (which is what we did in our garage) and mice realise that the party is over. this also counts from avaible food outside - like roating mountains on the farms - perfect place for them.
